Make Your Own Grocery List Pad

This grocery list pad was featured on Infarrantly Creative as a cute neighbor gift idea, but I am so making one later today… and it is for ME! ¬†ūüôā

At first glance of the idea I thought that no way would I be able to use someone else’s list. ¬†Then I saw that you can download her version and just type right in it to make it your own. ¬†Awesome! ¬†Then I started to read through it to fix it and make it my own and realized that there isn’t a ton that would be all that different. ¬†This is super easy. ¬†If you buy those magnetic pads to hang on the fridge like I do…. you can sometimes find them at dollar stores, but they can be up to around four or five bucks at other stores.

I love how she divided it up into categories so that even hubby can mark it down the right way. ¬†ūüôā ¬†This will make for easier shopping too. ¬†I used to write the food items near the top and the non food near the bottom of my blank notepads, but this will work so much better.

Menu Plan 2/28-3/6

I will apologize right off the start for the chaotic menu planning lately.  It seems like our schedule has been a bit crazy lately, the weather has been nutty, and things have just gotten off track a bit.

We ended up with more than expected leftovers last week and with leaving for the weekend we wanted to be sure to eat those up before we left. ¬†I now am putting some of the meals from last week into this week’s plan because we got a bit mixed up.

Also… the chicken leg quarters that were on sale with a coupon for 39 cents a pound this past week at Price Chopper were going to be part of the menu this coming week, but those were out. ¬†I got a rain check… so… recipes with leg quarters will be coming up when I get a chance to get those.

Then… I usually consider what is a super deal this coming week by going through the flyer and comparing my Sunday paper coupons. ¬†We were away… and I didn’t get the paper… so… no ad or coupons….. UGH!

I don’t think that I will be able to go to Price Chopper this week now anyway because Hubby needs to repair one more thing on my truck before taking it back in to get inspected…. so… I will be minus a vehicle. ¬†I will be sending him to the grocery store that is closer to get the absolutely¬†necessary¬†purchases instead.

With all that…. here is the tentative menu for this week:

Monday– ¬†Pork Chops with Sweet Potatoes and Pears (Weight Watchers online recipe from last week’s menu plan- find the link to the recipe there.)

Tuesday– Broiled Lemon Pepper Tilapia with Brown Rice and Steamed Green Beans (from last week’s menu, but switched the potatoes for rice because we are doing potatoes the day before)

Wednesday– ¬†Pork Chops with Honey Mustard Sauce (recipe from Noble Pig… she uses pork loin) with Potatoes or Rice and Steamed Veggies

Thursday– Leftovers

FridayР Shrimp Scampi over Spaghetti

Saturday– ¬†Whole Chicken in the Crock Pot (recipe here) with Stuffing (you can do some crazy stuffing recipe, but my family actually prefers the stuffing from the box ūüôā ) ¬†and some sort of Veggie

SundayР Chicken Soup with leftover chicken from Saturday (Recipe will most likely be from The Soup Bible)

Printable Coupons Reminder

Today is the last day to print your online coupons for February!!!

Zucchini-Nut-Bread Cookie Sandwiches

OMG…..

I just saw this on my facebook because I am “friends” with Noble Pig on there. ¬†It is actually a winery and although I have never tried the wine (pregnant and now nursing ever since I found them) I have tried many of the wonderful recipes she has posted.

I highly recommend checking out the Noble Pig site and browsing the recipes. ¬†If you try the wines… please comment and let me know how you like them. ¬†They also have Noble Pig glasses, etc. ¬†Please let me know how you like any of the recipes too. ¬†There are many on there that I still haven’t tried.

Anyway… click any of the above links and it will take you to the recipe on the Noble Pig page. ¬†I have some frozen zucchini from last years garden. ¬†I am soooo making these soon. ¬† ūüôā

Price Chopper 2/27 Week Deals

*Update- I guess our local Price Chopper ad had doublers or triplers and the TOPS ad had four doublers which can be used at Price Chopper. ¬†That is an awesome deal for those of you who actually got the paper… unlike me… who didn’t get a chance to get the paper. ¬†Ugh….

So… I have been trying to use this new site http://www.weusecoupons.com because they have the specific Price Chopper line that we have here. ¬†There are two lines of Price Chopper stores and it can get confusing when searching deals at Price Chopper. ¬†This site has a forum of users that post deals specific to the NE Price Chopper as we have here. ¬†They post about regular deals and sales, weekly great deals, and things called Catalina deals or CAT. (I will be trying to write up a post about CAT deals soon because I am just starting to learn about what I have been missing.)

There is a user named “Shortpants” that posts quite a bit of good info. ¬†Here is the list that he/she posted today for Price Chopper deals.

HOT** Sesame Street LIVE 2 Tickets $30 Philadelphia

Had to post this real quick. ¬†I would be all over it if we didn’t just get back from a weekend trip of puking car sick kiddos.

Go to Mama Cheaps to see how you can get 2 tickets to see the Sesame Street LIVE show in Philadelphia March 12 or 13 for $30. ¬†It says limit 5. ¬†I think that means five of the deal … so… ten tickets at that price.

Back on Track

Okay… so we went away for the weekend for the first time as a family of five. ¬†You would think that since we were only going for one overnight a measly three hours away we would just pop some clothes in the car and take off.

Well… no… we packed enough stuff that you would think we were going to another country for two weeks. ¬†My son gets car sick after about 20 minutes in the car so we had all that fun.

Needless to say…. I did not get my menu plan done last night…. I didn’t even remember to get the Sunday paper :(…. I have looked up zero deals to share… and my living room is still covered in all of the stuff that we had to plop there when we got back last night.

It was so nice to get away and make memories with my family, but what a weekend…

Oh.. and we were driving the whole time on pins and needles because my truck failed to pass inspection the Friday before we left. ¬†Don’t worry… we weren’t driving in an unsafe vehicle. ¬†Hubby fixed the problem Friday night… but we weren’t able to get it inspected before we left.

So… let me catch up a bit around this house. ¬†I will look up the online Price Chopper flyer and post the deals and this week’s menu plan.
